Dear Sir/Madam

modified by katie and Jess

On Monday the 16th November my friends and I travelled to
your restaurant, for my birthday. I booked a week in advance
and I booked a table for eight in the “ANYTHING GOES”
Party room.
When we arrived we had to wait in a line until we got to the
Reception. Half an hour later we eventually got to the reception
and I asked the receptionist which way was it to the party
room, receptionist said that they didn’t allow pesky little children in
the party room. So we told him that we had the passes to go
to the party room. Eventually he let us go in but he took us to
a table which had five chairs, we needed eight so he split us up to two tables that were far away from each other. Fifteen minutes later a waitress came, she
asked us very rudely. What do you want to eat?
We requested our orders and she wrote them down on her
note pad and said, “You’re lucky I am doing this because if
the manager hadn’t told me to do it then I wouldn’t!” Then
she stomped out of the room.
Forty-five minuets later another waitress
came with our food on an old rusty food trolley. She handed
the plates with old dirty washing-up gloves, then she
dropped my plate on the floor so I had to wait another fifteen
minutes for a plate for my food!
When we all eventually ate our food we
found out that the fish was raw and that the chips were burnt
black, then when we had our drinks they gave us white wine
instead of lemonade. Being under 18 years old, we felt that this was a serious
mistake on your behalf.
Please can I have a full refund because the food was appalling and the service
was a shambles, the white wine situation was so out of order I almost fell off
my chair when I tasted it my parents were so badly shocked that I had drunk
white wine.
Yours faithfully

Dear Jess and Steph M,
I have modified your letter of complaint and this is what it looks like, I hope you like it.

Dear Mr. Walton,
On Monday 18th November we travelled to your pub, to have a lovely meal to celebrate our mother’s birthday.
We are complaining about the poor service we were given. We booked a table for eight members of the family and we had to resize a table by ourselves that could only seat three pupils which was squished in the corner of the pub, when there were plenty of other tables available.
The pub was filthy and had old glasses scattered around the tables, which must have been there for a while, as they were literally stuck to the table.
However, we sat down and ordered our meal and drinks, which was not a wide choice of incidentally. We were horrified that it did not arrive until an hour and a half later. When we asked the waitress she replied rudely that they were very busy that night. This astounded us because apart from the pub cat the pub was empty!.
When the food arrived the chips were burnt and our mother’s soup was stone cold. Once we had finished our food are plates were taken.
We did not stay for pudding as it was already shambles . When we left no one acknowledge that we were leaving.
We were very alarmed about the about the poor service we received and we hope that you will look into the matter, and offer us a full refund.

Yours sincerely,
Miss .S Moulder and Miss .J Grimes

Dear Katie A
The following letter has been modified by
Stephanie U.R. & Sarah M.
P.S. We liked the bit about the food being thrown out the windows.

Dear Mr. Jones,

On Friday 3rd September my friends and I came to your restaurant at 4.30pm. We booked a table for seven. We ordered a nice meal. But we were served a cold pizza and chips that were frozen.
We were also put in the corner of the restaurant on the table that had not been cleared. The things were obviously from a long time ago. It was appalling.
When we looked out of the window we saw lots of leftovers that had been chucked on to the streets from the tables inside the restaurant.
I was shocked when I heard my family talking about the wonderful meal and polite service they had received when visiting your restaurant.
I am writing to complain about the disgraceful service that we received from your restaurant staff. I would like a full refund because of the inconvenience caused and the poor service we experienced.

Yours sincerely,
Katherine Appleby

Madam, / Dear Sir,
On the 3rd October, I visited your restaurant for my 11th birthday celebration. I had booked a table for six and was appalled at the poor service and low quality food.
First when we entered we were immediately shown to our table for four, we told the waitress that we had booked a table for six. So she pulled out two chairs and placed them all squashed together. Then we were served half an hour after we arrived. When we got served we ask if oats, wheat or gluten was in one of the meals and then when we received the meal we fond traces of oats so we had the meal taken back and replaced with salad.
When we ordered our pudding, we ordered ice cream Sunday we ended up with a melon and lime sorbets. We ask the waitress why we didn’t get the correct pudding she just said I don’t know.
You were one of the top ten restaurants in the town. My parents come hear regularly and say the service is brilliant; witch is why we chose the restaurant to come to, and the restaurant down the street. We feel the way you treated us is unacceptable. I am expecting a full refund.
Yours faithfully

Dear Ben and Sarah
I have redone your letter and hear it is

Dear Sir/Madam

On 22nd January, we went to your restaurant to have an ordered meal for eight for my birthday however the food was in a dreadful state.
We booked for six p.m. but we sat down at six thirty we ordered for eight and were seated at a table but we only got a five seated table .There were left overs on the table and there was chewing gum under the table.
For starters we had was garlic bread and soup, the garlic bread was mouldy and without any garlic on. And the soup was cold. The waitresses were rood to us when serving.

We had three fish that were frozen, five pizzas that were over cooked and hardened the courgettes on top were roar but the other vegetables were okay.

For drinks instead of sparkling water we had leman aid, and the children had apple juice.

All of us had ice cream that was like cream, and the little sweats that you put on top were all stuck together.
Yours faithfully

Dear Mr Jones,

On 3rd September my friends and I went to your restaurant at 4.30, and we booked for 7. We ordered to have a nice meal. But we were given a cold pizza and the cheese was not cooked.
We were also put in the corner of the restaurant on the table that was not cleared. There were things from a long time ago. It was not nice.
Out of the window we saw lots of things like the leftover’s accepted the stuff on the tables.
I am writing this to help your restaurant by making it more exciting and fun and good for adults and children. Make the food well done.

Yours sincerely

Dear Jordan,
I have looked at your letter and I have changed one or two things and this is what it looks like, I hope you like what I have done.

Dear Sir/Madam,

On Monday 27th November I visited your restaurant for my 10th birthday party. I am complaining about the low quality food I and my birthday guests were provided with and the appalling service the waiter gave us.
We arrived at four oclock in the afternoon, we didn’t sit down until four forty five pm, when we did sit down we were squeezed into a tiny corner table that was not cleaned from the last person that had eaten there, the table that we were on only held four although I had booked it for eight. We called the waiter to order some drinks and food, twenty minutes past and he eventually came, he was rude and so appalling.
When are starter came forty minuets later the nachos and cheese I ordered for eight of us couldn’t even feed four , the nachos were burnt and the cheese was almost mouldy. Then twenty minutes later the food and drinks came, the coke we ordered was stale and warm, the chips were burnt, the fish was still frozen, the pizza was half cooked and the salad was rotting. But the worst thing about it was a grown up group on a table next to us came in after us but got took to there table before ,they also had better food.
We think you should give us a full refund, and improve your services towards younger customers; you can’t ignore this letter because my farther provides your company with food and can easily stop.

Your’s sincerely
Tom Conally

Dear Mr. Walton,
On Monday 18th November we traveled to your pub, to have a lovely meal to celebrate our mother’s birthday.
We are complaining about the low quality and poor service we were given. We booked a table for eight members of our family and received a table for three which was squished in the corner of the pub, when there were plenty of other tables available.
The pub was filthy and had old glasses scattered around the tables, which must have been there for a while, as they were literally stuck to the table from spilt drinks.
However, we sat down and ordered our meals and drinks, which was not a wide range. We were horrified that it did not arrive until an hour and a half later. When we asked the waitress she replied rudely that they were very busy that night. This astounded us because apart from the pub cat the pub was empty!
When the food arrived the chips were burnt and our mother’s soup was stone cold. Once we had finished our food are plates were taken.
We did not stay for pudding as it was already a shambles. When we left noone acknowledge that we were leaving.
We were very alarmed about the about the poor service we received and we hope that you will look into the matter, and offer us a full refund.
Yours sincerely,
